1. Mellie and Fried Chicken: Mellie can't seem to get enough of fried chicken as she is still grieving the loss of her son. Pictures of her in sweatpants, robes and uggs eating potato chips at Jerry's grave goes viral. In a damage control attempt, Fitz and Cyrus tried but failed to convince her to attent the state of the union address. Abby was finally able to convince her.

2.OPA is kinda back: In this episode, the gladiators are helping the White House ensure the presence of a couple who must attend the state of the union address. Unfortunately, the couple hate each other and Olivia put Huck and Quinn in charge of "babysitting". As they were hashing out their own problems, the wife stabs the husband on the leg. Olivia promised to handle their divorce if they behaved themselves for one night.

3. Booty calls: Jake rented an hotel room near Olivia's apartment for booty calls (turns out he is secretly reviewing the circumstances of Harrison's death). Olivia doesn't like this but towards the end of the episode, she shows up at his room with a bottle of wine, high-heeled boots and NOTHING ELSE!!!

4. Cyrus finds romance: Cyrus met a guy at the bar and even though he rebuffs his (the guy at the bar) advances at first, Cyrus later accepts. Fast forward to them making out in an hotel room, it turns out the guy is a sex worker and it was later revealed that he is working for republican operative Elizabeth.

5. Finally in the room alone: Fitz demanded for the room alone with Olivia to go over the state of the union address. They are obviously attracted to each other even though they keep each other at arm's length.
